Let me preface this by saying that no humans mentioned in or writing this post had cosmetic surgery. All good? Phew.

The facelift I refer to is beehiiv’s new website builder, which I’ve been waiting for them to roll out across the board. Not gonna lie…I perked right up when their email announcement today informed me I could finally go play with it!

So far, I like it. I might change the style down the road. Who knows? Everyone needs a refresh (AKA facelift) sometimes.😉

In book news, I sent the first ~64k words of my fantasy WIP to one of my alpha readers for first overall impressions. With the exception of a few minor things to tweak and a couple of typos I hadn’t caught yet, it came back with flying colors. However, now I need to feed the voracious reading beast who is invested in the story—pronto, thank you very much.

I’m pretty sure I heard a whip cracking behind her typed comments.😳

I think tonight would be a good night to hole up in my air conditioned cave, prop the laptop on my lap, and see how many good words I can add to move the story along. It sure beats going out in the hot, muggy mess that is today’s weather.

Speaking of the weather—doesn’t everybody? LOL—I keep getting asked if I’m sure I want to move to where it’s even hotter and consistently more humid for most of the year. The answer remains yes. <cue the side-eyes and disbelieving head shakes>

Family reasons might have delayed my timeframe, but it’s still happening. I’m determined. I’m also beyond ready to be in a separate household again. This independent talespinner is too used to her own daily patterns to adapt well to others for this long.

I know, I know. First World problems. The canine Master of the House who adopted me as his (temporary) Emotional Support Human would be giving me reproachful looks if he wasn’t sound asleep in his bed…the one that happens to be in my writer’s cave.

Nope. He’s not spoiled. Much. <cue uproarious laughter, mine included>

So! There’s the news that’s fit to print from my corner of the Internet. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, but much of it is mundane, which frankly, makes for boring reading.

Stay safe, wherever you are in the world, and be kind to yourself and others.
