Words, words, and more words

Despite—or perhaps because of—the stress of packing to move and managing a change in my work team’s composition, the fantasy WIP has been rolling lately. Today alone saw me adding 8,076 new words, bringing the manuscript’s running total to over 61k.

<Snarky inner voice: Thank you for going back in and writing another 300+ words to cross the 61k mark. Stopping 246 words shy of it made me twitch incessantly.>

Honestly, I want to keep going since the story and words are still flowing, but I need to step away and take care of other things for a while. Dang necessities! How dare my stomach complain that it needs to eat again, and my bank account remind me that I have expenses to budget for and bills to pay!

Yeah, I know. First World problems. In many ways, I’m privileged to have them.
