Woot! Thanks to the 2,690 words I wrote today, the fantasy WIP is officially over 100k words. My target of 120k is tantalizingly close. Of course, it’s still anyone’s guess as to whether I go over that goal or not.
What can I say? Sometimes the characters and story grab the reins, and I’m merely along for the ride.
Here, have a snippet.
Keefer tipped his head toward where Silona and the woman who had met them outside sat. "I better get their pies to them before Silona raises a ruckus."
Ell laughed. "I'd normally say I'd have a hard time picturing a mage raising a ruckus, but then I met her and Rand. They're slowly convincing me otherwise."
"Hey, now," Rand protested mildly. "I outgrew that stage. Mostly."
Ell and Keefer exchanged amused glances.
"You might have. Doesn't mean she did." Keefer jerked his thumb over his shoulder and chortled as he turned and headed for the oven.
It’s time to go screen-free for a while and let my eyes rest. Between several hours of editing (my f/t work) that started around 2:00 AM and a couple of hours for writing that began at 1:00 PM, I’m a tired cookie.
What’s exciting or interesting about your Saturday? (Odd sleep schedules not required, but rock them if you have them.)
